Mountain West Conference basketball play is upon us and after having some success at predicting the 2010 MWC football season, 7220 Report is here to predict this years final basketball standings. These standing are more of an educated guess than pure fact or opinion of course because basketball both pro and college is hard to watch these days. On a national level, the NBA is a complete joke (street ball!) and it’s influence is starting to have a direct impact on the college game. While at the local level, Heath Schroyer is still coaching the brown and gold so excuse the lack of excitement.
It should be no suprise that the MWC will be top heavy this year. San Diego State, BYU, and UNLV are all locks to make the big dance unless they have some kind of back breaking injury and New Mexico could also sneak into the picture with a solid conference record. The bottom of the league is nothing but muck with Wyoming clearly at the bottom and TCU, Air Force and Utah not all that much better.
